A mem because I havn't updated in forever

I've come to realize...

1. That my last ex:
made a much better friend than lover.

2. That when I talk:
My mouth tries to catch up with my brain and things just get muddled.

3. That I love:
Living alone, I was pertrified of not having roomates and being constantly lonely when in fact I feel more comfortable by myself.

4. That my friends:
will alway change.

5. That I've lost:
My passion for politics.

6. That I hate:
People who claim to ride on the moral high road, but expecally close minded liberals.

7. That marriage
Is suddenly something I hope for instead of something I run from. Love does crazy things to you.

8. That somewhere, someone is thinking:
What good is this all for?

9. That I'll always be:
Weird.

10. That I have a crush on:
No one really (other than the boyfriend), unless you count Christopher Elckenson.

11. The last time I truly cried was:
Wow, its been a really long time, probally all the JVC bulshit from last year.

12. My cell phone is:
in despearte need of a new battery/ the sustainer of all my relationships.

13. When I wake up in the morning:
I begrudgely go to work.

14. Before I go to sleep at night I:
Talk to charles .

15. Right now I am thinking about:
The fact that I should find a new career path.

16. I get on LiveJournal:
to peek into everyone elses life without actually sharing any of my own! Mwa hahaha

17. Today:
I'm going to yoga!

18. Tonight I will:
Try to find a new career path.

19. My future is:
probally in Omaha Damnit!

20. Tomorrow:
I go to my small business class to try and figure out how to start my brewery.

My office is in an old mall that was converted to office space and in the hallway there is a "blue collar" employment agency. I was running to the bathroom and walked by the door, and a women almost opens the door into my head and I just wanted to take her aside and tell her, "Honey, if you are trying to get a job, you might want to wear clothes that fit. Job hint #1 dont wear jeans and a tee-shirt to an interview. Even if it is just the employment agency and #2 make sure your clothes fit. No one wants to see your tumorous stomach hanging out from underneath your little brothers NASCAR t-shirt.

Life and Work

Good god my job is dull! In a given day I probally do about 3-4 hours of work and the rest of the time i sit on my ass and play on the internet.
Its pretty weird actually because I'll try to take iniative and do things that need to be done, only to be told that I didn't need to do it. So now my job is basically sitting on the internet bullshiting all day. I should become a day trader or something.
Overall life is good, so much better than the JVC bullshit. Those people had even more problems than I do! I moved in with Charles, kind of by default as I couldn't find a place I liked with decent rent. Now, mind you I didn't exactly try really hard but can you really blame me?
Its so wonderful to live with him. I was really resistant at first because I thought that we would be at eachother's throats for sure. But in reality it has been so amazing. There is nothing like falling asleep in someone's arms everynight or even the very simple joy of having your boyfriend kiss you awake each morning.
We've started brewing our own beer which ROCKS!!! ITs really cool to make bacterial piss in your basement! Not to mention its really tasty too! I'm also working on a full garden in the rich Iowa soil and hopefully I'll have a real job soon.
In a way its very strange I have everything going for me, a decent job (although boring as shit), an amazing relationship and a decent social life and yet I'm not as excited as I should be becuase there is no challenge in my current life. Its perfect and that kind of bothers me!

Alright you win!

Somehow I managed to get myself kicked out of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and they wont tell me why. Very weird situation. I'll have a party or something when I back in Omaha to explain.

So I'll be back in Omaha on a semi-perminate basis starting March 1st. But once again I get to enjoy the fun and exciting world of job searching. Particularly wonderful because the stuff I am qualified for, social research, is not done in Omaha. And the one firm that does do social research (Gallup) wont even look at me as a canidate because my car got towed and I couldn't finish training.

Buggernuts!

(Though I can complain to much because I do have a job offer in Omaha doing medicare/medicaid outreach, I just dont really want it)

OMG I'm actually posting!

Ok I feel like a live journal slut, peaking into all your blogs but revealing none of my crazy exploits in NYC.

My life is insane! My boss went on maternity leave three weeks after I started and left me as the only person in my department without any training or experience, and thus the last few months of my life have been devoted to faking it, and pretending like I actually know how to conduct social science research projects. Frankly, Im getting so good at faking it that I actually think I may be figuring out how to do this shit!

But I love my job, dispite the fact that I am in compleatly over my head. I am working on several research projects and campaigns including, philipina domestic workers, gentrification in downtown brooklyn, documenting best practices for NYC soup kitchens, cordinating NYC area non-profits to conduct joint trainings (not as easy as you would think), working to document and recive funding for the treatment of those affected by the toxic fallout from september 11th (I could chat your ear off on this one).

In fact today I stayed at work until 10 finalizing the data for a presentation in the Netherlands next week (no I dont get to go).

My roomates are alright, not quite my stile of people (I am the most conservative one in the house) and they really dont like being challenged but, I did this program to find a challenge so I cant be too upset. And overall they are all awesome if not quite my bag.

Charles came out last weekend and well I love that boy.

Peace Out ya all!

Holy Crap! I made it to New York City and I finally have a few minutes to post. God this rocks! I live in Brooklyn but work in, wait for it…, downtown Manhattan! Who hoo! Last night I went to a Giants game with my community mates and we had 14th row sets, it was amazing. My house is beautiful, we’re renting two floors of a three story brownstone and there is so much space. I don’t know how this worked but my community is so impressive, they’re all extremely intelligent thoughtful and committed to saving the world (or at least a tiny part of it).
My job is crazy! First I’m actually using my degree and I’ve already been pulled into five major research projects doing both qualitative and quantative research. But that’s all I have time for now, ttyl.

ah ha a real post

*pauses to take a breath*

Its been a crazy summer aka the summer of rediclous road trips

1. Omaha to Boston (May 15th-May28)
2. Boston to Omaha (July 7) Fell in love and had to move back
3. 1,500 miles around colorado while finaly convincing boy that Colorado is the best state ever.

Anyway Charles (aka boy) took a week of vacation to come and tour Colorado for a week, and he leaves tomorrow night. But shit I feel like I need another week of vaction before going to harlem on Thursday. Lets see a short list of what we did.

Saturday: got to colorado at Midnight
Sunday: Drove up the the Ren Fair where I ran into Rebecca Job and flew (pictures will eventually be posted as soon as I figure out the whole picture thing). Watched Charles squee like a 5 year old boy when he got to ride the elephant (who then ate off his head. We then came home, had dinner with the fam and nursed my sunburn. (Curse being closer to the sun)
Monday: Drove to grand Lake and hiked up to a mountian meadow for an extreamly romantic moment involving wine, a stream, a beautiful mountian and some peaches. It was so romatic I wouldnt have belived it if it wasnt for the fact that Charles had to cross the stream in his underwear.
Tuesday: Slept in late, wandered around town, marched boy up a mountian to a spot only Charles, Me and my brother know about. (ok not really but still its the secret spot). Then we ate a nice pizza dinner and came home to a campfire as we watched the moon rise over the contential devide.
Wednesday: Spent most of the day soaking in the Hot Springs (and part of the day topless). We came home, grilled out and then went to an amazing show.

..... Later that night we went for a walk and saw a huge moose and two little calfs mosing across the volleyball court and then on the way home I almost walked into a black bear.... (its a really good story but I have alot more to type)....

CONGRATS FOR READING THIS FAR

Thursday Friday and Saturday we spent time at Mesa Verde, I almost killed charles and then on the way back to denver we pulled off for some fun nautyness.
